Resia
Resia: as with its neighbour, a large part of what used to be Alt-Reschen was submerged in the flooding of the Reschensee reservoir.
The name of the pass and the village came from an old farmstead in the locality. Located right on top of the pass at 1.508 m above sea level, ‘Reschen’ today is a busy interface between North and South Tyrol.
To the northwest the hamlet of Rojen nestles in the beautiful landscape of an Alpine valley.
At 2,000 m above sea level, Rojen is the highest permanent settlement in Tyrol. The little church of St. Nicholas features Gothic frescoes from the early 15th century and testifies to the distant past of this small settlement.
